An AFTCO ChannelMag has replaced a standing wave flume due to its superior rangeability and resolution. The NIST-traceable calibration of the ChannelMags agreed on -site with the limited range of the standing wave flume.
The Yorkshire Water Authority has been pleased with the performance and durability of the ChannelMag. After two years they have been maintenance free, even though the electrodes are permanently coated with sewage grease and similar.
The photo on the left shows the simple installation. In most cases ChannelMags may be installed under flow conditions. Bypassing an isolated flume construction is unnecessary, with huge savings.
