Turbo-Bar™ Insertion Turbine Flow Meter |
|
|
|
| |
|
EMCO's Turbo-Bar™ flow meter provides significant cost
savings for line sizes from 3 to 80" without compromising performance. With
high accuracy, wide turndown, and a unique low-mass rotor design without welded
joints, the Turbo-Bar™ flow meter gives you the benefit of over 30 years of
practical experience. The Turbo-Bar™ measures liquids or gases, including
steam, for pipe sizes from 3 to 80".

|
| Unparalleled Performance
|
|
|
-
± 1.0% of rate accuracy
-

|
Significant Cost Savings
|
|
|
-
One Turbo-Bar™ flow meter is suitable for pipe sizes 3 to 80", so there is one
purchase price, regardless of pipe size, resulting in typical savings of up to
80% for 24" lines and 50% for 10" lines compared to full-bore flowmeters
-
Installed quickly and easily, saving as much as 70% in labor installation costs
when compared to full-bore flow meters
-
Hot-tap-compatible installation allows removal without process shutdown; this
not only avoids disruption of a critical process, but also reduces labor costs
-
Negligible pressure drop, typically 10 times less than an orifice plate,
reduces energy and operating costs
-
Unique low-mass rotor design is fabricated from one solid block of stainless
steel, with no welded joints, maximizing rotor longevity and increasing
sensitivity to changes in flow
-
Optional integral pressure and temperature measurement enables mass flow
measurement from one pipe tap (installation)
|
|
|
|
Ease of Operation
|
|
|
-
Factory calibrated and programmed for specific applications
-
Start-up without any additional calibration or programming
-
EZ-Logic™ local display alternates between flow rate and totalized flow
-
Menu-driven EZ-Logic™ user interface enables local programming

All values in the above table are approximate and depend on the density of the
fluid. Accuracy in both the linear and non-linear ranges may be improved by
using the advanced curve-fitting techniques present in one of EMCO's flow
processors or the EZ-Logic™ electronics. Consult EMCO if your
application fails outside the above limits.

valve provides connections for mounting optional pressure transmitter
(Model PT) (bleed valve is bronze for Turbo-Bar-600/60S only)
|
|
Model PT pressure transmitter(optional)
|
A pressure transmitter can be mounted using the 1/4" NPT connection on the
bleed valve supplied with the meter, eliminating the need for a separate
pressure tap. A 4 to 20 mA output, scaled to the desired pressure range, is
provided.
|
Temperature sensor
(RTD optional)
|
A 1000Ω, 3-wire, platinum RTD can be mounted inside the stem of the meter
probe, eliminating the need for a separate termperature tap.
|
Temperature transmitter
(TXX optional)
|
Includes the RTD option with an additional 4 to 20 mA output, scaled to the
desired temperature range.

Installation Specifications
|
|
Tap size
|

|
|
Mounting
|
Install flow meter vertically, horizontally, or at any angle. The meter is
attached perpendicular to the axis of the pipe and should not be mounted
upside-down (with its top section hanging below the pipe mount). For liquid
service, the flow line must be full during flow meter operation. In vertical
lines, flow direction should be upward for optimum flow meter performance.

Site selection
|
Select installation location to minimize turbulence and swirl. The piping
configuration, (i.e., values, elbows, pumps) may add disturbances to the flow.
|
|
Hot-tap compatibility
|
The TMP-600/60S is hop-tap compatible, which means that the sensor can be
installed and removed under full-flow conditions. The TMP-800/80S with flanged
connection and TMP-910/960 are hot-tap compatible when installed with a 2"
double flanged, full-port ball, or gate valve.

13.79 barg), a temperature sensor and transmitter scaled to 212 to 400°F, and a
one-foot stem extension.
Notes:
-
The G6 is the only available 1" shrouded rotor.
-
Not available with European CE Mark
- Unit directional flow only. Unit has 4 to 20 mA and frequency output.
-
Remote mount electronics are required for high process temperatures. The
standard remote option comes with 30' of cable.
